Yes. In Texas. I'm cold. My fingers are numb as I type. Of course, partly that's to do with our crummy office heaters. Not that home's any better. My toeses are frozes.
We got slammed with ice and snow on Wednesday. Mom, Dad and Stephen came home early and I made up a giant pot of potato soup, which was ohmygodgood with onions, bacon, cream, chives...so good. Anyway, Thursday Stephen's school was closed and it was still icy enough that Dad closed the office. So I spent the day dozing and puttering around, watching Christmas movies with Stephen, yapping on the phone.
Now the Northeast is having the ice and snow, significantly more of it, of course. I know that Yankees hate snow because they get so much of it and I know they think we're wussies for the way we react to the weather. Thing is, we get so little of the ice and snow that we look at it as a big treat or a fun event. Everyone takes off work and gets all excited. Of course, we did have an ungodly number of accidents yesterday. Most of them, however, were large trucks, one of which went up in flames in the middle of the highway, across from another truck accident that had happened about ten minutes before. Nice.
I still like winter best, but I just wish we could all stay home for it. And have snow. And sled. I volunteer to shovel. (Just teach me how!)
